Delightful Cucumber Salad

This delightful cucumber salad was inspired by “Frankfurt Green Sauce”. I came across it in 2009 while living in Germany. It’s supposed to made with a mix of locally grown herbs, but since we’re not in Frankfurt, this will be called cucumber salad with “Herbs Available In Your Grocery Store Green Sauce”.

Delightful Cucumber Salad

This salad is super quick to throw together and I would suggest doing it first before starting on the remaining components of your dinner. That allows the cucumber to soak up the sauce and make it extra yummy.

Frankfurt Green Sauce is traditionally eaten over boiled eggs and potatoes, but the sauce tastes so good you want to pour it over everything. Which explains why I have it in a cucumber salad.

It works well – trust me! Especially next to an intensely flavoured main like our Delicious Citrus Chicken.

  • 1 • cucumber [peeled and thinly sliced]
  • 1/3 cup • plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup • sour cream
  • 1/3 cup • fresh chopped herbs [parsley dill & chives]*
  • 1 tbsp • mayonnaise
  • to taste • salt/pepper


  • Once upon a time all the ingredients where thrown into a bowl.
  • Then it was mixed.
  • The end.
