Remove the filet mignon steaks from the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels, then season both sides evenly with salt, garlic powder, dried thyme, and pepper.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3–5 minutes.
Place the seasoned steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
Air fry for 7–9 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the steaks reach your desired level of doneness.
Remove the steaks from the air fryer and immediately top each with garlic herb butter.
Let the filet mignon rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes
Bring Steaks to Room Temperature:
Letting the filet mignon sit out briefly before cooking helps it cook more evenly in the air fryer.
Use a Meat Thermometer:
Checking internal temperature is the most reliable way to get your preferred doneness.
Flip Halfway Through:
Turning the steaks ensures even browning on both sides.
Rest Before Serving:
Allow the steaks to rest for 5 minutes so the juices redistribute and the meat stays tender.
Doneness Temperature Guide:
Rare: 120–125°F
Medium-Rare: 130–135°F
Medium: 140–145°F
